Dubuque County, Iowa

Dubuque County is named for Julian Dubuque, an early explorer to the area. Dubuque County is a very old county on the Mississippi River.

The seat and largest city is Dubuque. It borders Clayton, Jackson, Jones and Delaware Counties in Iowa, Grant County in Wisconsin and Jo Daviess County in Illinois.
